Meaning based computing is one of the topics I discussed recently with Mike Lynch, head of Autonomy, the UK’s fastest growing software company. Autonomy is in the search business but in a different way from that of Google or Yahoo or Microsoft. Autonomy’s software is aimed at the specific needs of enterprise search. And its technology can infer the “meaning” of content through a combination of statistical and other approaches.
